Portrait of Barbara Gordon as Batgirl for an upcoming pageant. Because I <3 Batgirl.

This took four days off and on and was fueled by a bottle of rum and Venture Bros playing the background.

I tried playing with some different lighting. I was working off the idea that she was standing half in shadows and half in the glow of the Bat-signal and I think that turned out ok.

Characterization is always really important to me too, so I tried to give her a good facial expression. Barbara Gordon is a pretty sweet, nice girl - she's an unassuming smart, geeky girl who can secretly kick your butt. She's also motivated purely by the desire to do good, unlike Batman who is motivated by revenge. She's pretty much the nicest, most well adjusted character in the Batman universe, so I thought a soft, quirky smile suited her best

[edited] I fixed a few things that were bothering me about the hair and deepened the shadows on the right and the lighting on the left.
